Default DNS Question

Hi ,

I will most likely be signing up with you at the begin of June, on a Shared Hosting Baby plan, and will having some addon domains.

Now if I go ahead and setup a clan, with another company that providers clan sites. I would want to use one of the addon domains.

So would it be possible to:
Change the A record for the addon domain, so http://www.domain.com and http://domain.com goes to the clan site.

While email says on the Hostgator server.

Is this something Hostgator support can do for me, once I have signed up and decided etc...

Regards,
Crazy BigGaz (Garry)

Default Re: DNS Question

cPanel now supports DNS for cpanel accounts so yes you will be able to do this using the simple DNS editor in cPanel or you can ask us to do this. Please keep in mind that if you change the A record for domain.com as well as the www subdomain then you will also need to change the CNAME record associated with mail.domain.com to an A record pointing to our server as well as the MX record from just domain.com to mail.domain.com so that your mail will work correctly.
