I have a domain at godaddy and when i had to change the dns i needed to unlock the domain and i locked it right after i changed the dns.
Was this right or does the domain have to stay unlocked |

No, you can keep it locked. Only needs to be unlocked if your going to move the name to another registar. Locking it prevents anyone but who has access to the account information from doing a transfer.

TeeJa,
GoDaddy locking also locks out the DNS from the person who has the account. You have to unlock it to make all but basic changes. Ya it sounds odd if you haven't used this feature with them. You did it right kylef. Unlock it to make your changes and lock it back right away if you feel better that way. Staren |

Yes, it's a PIA they way they do it (I have domains there and at enom) but at least it hopefully keeps things somewhat safe from hijacking.
