It's not exactly a presales question, as I have my first brand new account.
I woudn't like to bother the online chat guys with a question which is not related to any problem, so I will shoot this one here. How can I know if my DNS is fully and properly propagated ? Is there a way to check it somehow ? I've noticed that my Whois is already updated with the new hostgator's dns. Is this enough to tell that it's already done ? I have no rush with the propagation, but I would like to know if there's a way to check it by myself. Thanks a lot. |

Short of checking from every host on the internet, no, there is no way to know for sure. But if you've done everything right, it now generally takes much less than the 48 hours it once did. More like 3 hours. If you can check from more than one ISP and it works, then chances are it does from much of the internet.
