Default DNS Problems

I recently bought a hatchling account from HostGator, but I’ve been having a DNS switching problem for quite a while, so my correct address doesn't show up. I feel I’ve simply been running around in different directions, as I don’t exactly know the cause of it.
I think I should give some technical history on my website first. I first bought the address http://www.sapphirecontrol.com off of Network Solutions in November ’05. Despite this, my dad found a better hosting company, Heida Computers, and we had the rest of the site configured there. So, unless I’m mistaken, my registrar was Network Solutions, and my… er, “half-host” was Heida.

Due to the fact that Heida Computers lacked the options for multiple ftp users in CPanel X, I decided a month ago to switch hosts to HostGator. So, I switched, keeping the same address, right before my old site ownership expired. I’m unsure if I kept my registrar was locked, but it’s too late to check now, as my old site, like I said, has expired.

I got the email and waited a couple days, but my site still didn’t show up. I just assumed I misunderstood the instructions, and I asked Heida Computers to switch name servers for me. He asked me for my registrar, and I made the mistake of giving him HostGator’s rather than my own. So, he wasn’t quite able to log in on my username when he checked into Enom….

I’d have given him my old registrar, but my site’s no longer hosted there, so I’d be transferring a site that doesn’t exist. I’d renew the site, but that isn’t free, and I’m already paying for a site that hasn’t copied to its proper address. I’m tempted to just drop the site and buy it again, though I wanted to see what other way I have out of this. So, any feedback on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Also, for those who may need it, the nameservers are 297.hostgator.com and 298.hostgator.com.

Domain servers in listed order: Manage DNS

DNS.HEIDACOMPUTERS.COM 66.194.238.90
DNS2.HEIDACOMPUTERS.COM 66.194.238.91

Well, the nameservers have never been changed... if the domain isn't that important to you, it's probably easier to just register a new one and go from there...

Well, perhaps it's the best option....

But I've already went past 30 days with the account, so I guess there's no refund.... Is there a way to replace the old one for free, or do I have to start over and make the payment again?

You can ask that they change the domain of your account to another domain, I don't remember if there is a fee for that, but you find out if you send an email to sales@hostgator.com and ask

maybe I'm missing something but if the domain is still valid up to 2007 why don't you login on your Network Solutions account and change the Name Servers to hostgator's?

I currently emailed sales@hostgator.com about the issue. Until I get a response from that, I guess I'll just sit tight at the moment.

I attempted to, but with no luck. It doesn't seem to think I even have an account. I'm supposing it expired along with my site, but then again, I'm not very experienced with switching hosts, so I doubt the idea is likely...

No, the domain hasn't expired has kmaw showed you above: "Record expires on 16-Sep-2007"

hi,
ya domain seems renewed.
Code:

Record expires on 16-Sep-2007.
Record created on 16-Sep-2005.
Database last updated on 2-Nov-2006 13:08:16 EST.
check http://www.viewwhois.com/sapphirecontrol.com

Also the whois records show its a private registration, did you had it like this or this has been changed to by anyone who has access to your domain a/c ?

domain info also shows last update 2Nov. so it may be possible they renewed it on the last day when domain was about to enter the redemption period after a grace renewal period of 40 days(some registrars have this much grace period.)

See ya,

...Er, that was odd. Didn't mean to post that.

Anyway, I clicked the whois right now. Haven't checked it fully, but it may be useful, so I'll do so right now....

See ya,
I don't quite remember it being private, but I know I didn't change it. It might have been changed when I asked Heida Computers for help, but I don't really know enough about it to make any assumptions.

Yes, I probably should have reworded that. Wasn't certain how, though....

Still, I can't even access the old control panel. It apparently exists, but only in some form of subspace.
