Sorry if these are really simple questions, I am coming up blank on these:
I have domaina.com set w/ HG. I want domainb.com to have email, their own website, etc... so that's an addon domain? I set up domainb.com as addon to domaina. But what is the NS? same as domaina.com? I have that in the notes, but where would I see that in cpanel? with shared hosting, I understand, I have to admin all the domains - there's only 1 username to access all the addon domains, as subdirectories of domaina.com, right? all is done through domaina.com/cpanel? domainb.com/cpanel won't work at all? in creating the forum username / password, it asked what server I was on. Where would I see that? in cpanel, I don't see a line for that. I do know the IP is 74.52.105.226 Do I have access to / do I need whm or is that for reseller account? I entered domaina.com/whm and it asked for user / password, and I entered what I would use at cpanel but it wouldn't let me in. THANKS ! |

After you change NS you must wait a few hours (up to 48h max) before you create the addon domain in cpanel. Quote:

2) it will work but its the same as domaina.com/cpanel. The important it's the username and password. You can also access your cpanel with 74.52.105.226/cpanel or gator150.hostgator.com/cpanel. Quote:

but if I didn't remember what nameserver a domain is using, where in cpanel / hostgator site can I look up to see that my domain is assigned to use nameserver ________? I know about whois.net, etc... I am asking about where would I look in HG to know what nameserver HG has my domain's info set up on (without looking at whois or an external place for the answer? is |

any thoughts why I am getting this message when I try to add a 2nd addon domain? the first one seems to be working great! the Cpanel says addon domains: 1/999 and I have just a few (4?) directories.
Addon Domain Maintenance Addon Domain Additions Error from domain wrapper: Sorry, you have exceeded the maximum allowed subdomains. Error from park wrapper: The following domain is not configured for this account: bridgewatertide.aimcsi.com: @Cpanel: OMAINS=(aimcsi.com,deitz.name,deitzname. aimcsi.com) Error from domain wrapper: Sorry, you have exceeded the maximum allowed subdomains. bridgewatertide.us could not be setup. The subdomain bridgewatertide.aimcsi.com was not setup either. |

Thanks, yes, that's how I originally found it... but once you trash that, is there a place in the cpanel to find that out? Say if I trashed the email before setting up the name server with the registrar. or made a typo with the registrar and now want to double check it?
and in the addon domain panel, what's it mean when it says: Hint: This feature must be enabled for your account before you can use it. |

I believe Live Support can give you the IPs of the nameservers.

If you have either the ip that you are on, or the server name, this can help, even though it's ssl related it has the nameservers and server names and main ip addresses on it.
