I transferred a website to it's own VPS without a hitch and then modified the dns zone on the previous server, modifying the A record to the new ip address. With a short TTL, all traffic was routing to the VPS quite quickly. We're still waiting on the registrar to set up the nameservers for the domain.
Now I only need to transfer the SSL certificate and see we need a dedicated ip address. With the above zone settings, will changing to a new dedicated ip on the vps affect the routing we have working already? I think it shouldn't, but just want to double check before breaking it. Many thanks in advance. |

Yes it does affect, it needs to propagate like any other change in a domain's DNS settings.
