Update: Funny, even through my ISP's SMTP still no autoresponse from HG's support... meanwhile /var is now at 90%... MYSQL is dead... eximstats exim fail and SMTP is dead.
Update2: Got an autoresponse 45 minutes later (even though timestamp was a minute after my email to support). Issues are resolved though status is still showing a red light on /var I wonder is this is the source of the slowdowns this morning. Hi guys, A couple of weeks ago when the server I am on was having issues with high server loads etc I mentioned that on one occasion an email I sent to support dissapeared (because I did not get the auto response with ticket number) another user, maybe more than one, going through the same server slowness issue mentioned he was also not getting autoresponse. Fastforward to today, porsche was having problems again.. red light on IMAP yellow on sda3 (/var) long waits to load up control panel's and timeouts on getting pages... so I popped an e-mail off to support (11:00 GMT) interestingly dejavu all over again :-) No autoresponse and consequently no information from the folks at support... I'm wondering if during high server load (or whatever the cause of the slowness was) SMTP is accepting but dumping messages before sending them off. This is a pretty important issue, as we all know email is of great importance.. in honesty customers notice and complain to me more about email problems than issues with any other service, I suppose because they use POP and SMTP more frequently than HTTP so are faster in finding issues with it. Anyway I would like to know HG's take on this... maybe a look into server configuration and behavious during high server load or other issues... maybe find out why this is a recurring issue Trust me this happened and its not a filter issue because at other times I get the support autoresponse without any problems. :-) Antonio.
