Disk Space Question

Hullo Like what I'm seein at Host Gator, just have a few questions before I buy a plan (sorry if they have been asked before)

1.) If I buy a reseller plan, and I set up my site for selling... does the diskspace and bandwidth used by the main site count towards my bandwidth alotmment?

2.) How is MySQL handled. I know that unlimited is trouble with hosting places, so how much MySQL can I create? MySQL come out of the alloted disk space?

3.) I notice this little thing at the top of the plans. "Limited Time Free bonus GIG on all plans for life!!" Is that included already in what is listed or in addition too? And is that disk space or bandwidth?

4.) What are your general fees for a custom plan? I mean, how much do I have to pay for every so and so of what?

Yes. If you purchase a plan that allows for 2GB of disk space, for example, and you use 500MB for your main site, you will be left with 1.5GB for your resold accounts.

We use the term "unlimited" as a means to describe the fact that we do not place a set limit on the number of databases you can create. Obviously, if you try to set up a few thousand databses, there would be a problem, so there is a definate saturation point. What that point is, I am not sure. Nobody has reached it yet. The space used will count against your total disk usage.

I have asked the owner to remove that text, and hopefully he will soon. I agree it is quite confusing. The bonus gig is already included in the fiugures shown for each package.

It really depends on what is needed over and above what our highest plans offer. We do not generally offer a custom plan unless your requirements call for more than our largest plan offers. For more information on this, please contact sales@hostgator.com

The forums here are managed mainly by me. Our LiveChat staff, email support staff, and phone staff may stop by occasionally, but the forums are pretty much reserved for non-critical issues, and our support folks stay pretty busy with the heavy-duty issues.
