Discounts for Longer Term Packages

Hi,

I am a new customer of Host Gator after losing my previous host of 5+ years because they decided to up and go out of business. I can say that so far Host Gator seems like an excellent choice for hosts and if their support is as good as their customer service was when I had questions before signing up, then I will be a happy camper.

The only thing that I guess I miss is getting a discount for paying for multiple months/years at once, like 6 Months, 1 Year, 2 Years, etc. I am not suggesting that you try to implement so many different package deals that it becomes more difficult than it's worth, but to maybe just offer one discount for paying 1 year up front. I only say this because it was always nice to just pay for a whole year of service at once, plus knowing that I was getting a deal in return always gave me that warm fuzzy feeling...LOL.

This is just a suggestion, and by no means a way to say that I would leave if you didn't offer it, because as long as I get good, reliable, and customer friendly service I will be very satisfied. Well, thanks for hearing my suggestion.

Hi and welcome. I am sure you will find HG just as helpful as a customer as much so as a prospective customer. At least I have and so have many others. I am not a shared customer, but any further discounts on the shared plans that are already under priced would be insane in my opinion. Just think about what a server costs, the resources available on it and then slice it up by the # of accounts you could sell with that big of a piece of the pie. You get the discount however you pay for it

I agree with George.
You can't have your toast buttered on both sides and expect HG to chew it for you before you just swallow it.

Being able to host on a month to month basis without a contract is good enough for me.

Yea I have also paid a year in advance but do not have a problem with it as I read the reviews and searched the internet and HG came up tops every time.

Considering you will read all the bad reviews on the forums and very view good reviews in relation to the number of customers I think HG can up their prices for shared hosting.

Being serious, I have to agree it is nice to get a discount for paying upfront but honestly I can't see how HG can afford it.
