Demo Mode (Resellers)?

I'm a "copper" reseller now, but used to have a dedicated CPanel server with root access to creating a "Demo Mode" account.

I'm told I cannot have a demo mode account here, which I believe hampers our marketing efforts. Apparently, that's because I don't have root access to create a Demo Mode account. But it would help us all, I suggest, if each of your servers had its own CPanel in Demo Mode, for the following reasons:

1) The demo CPanel would accurately reflect the CPanel version I'm selling. Apparently, different servers have different versions of CPanel on them. HG's current CPanel demo is well behind what's on my server.

2) Fantastico is awesome, and it would help if prospects could read the descriptions of each current software package (in the Fantastico menu) --- which cannot be installed in CPanel's Demo Mode.

3) The WYSIWYG HTML editor is also a strong selling point for many newbie prospects, especially if they auto-install one of the free templates in Fantastico -- two features which (combined) give us the equivalent of a free site-builder. As I recall, the File Manager is still operable in Demo Mode -- but cannot save anything.

In other words, I'd like to see a REAL demo mode account, with add-on domains, each add-on with a different free template, so our prospects can test their skills on an equivalent site-builder -- plus see the full CPanel with Fantastico.

HostGator has a demo setup for resellers. It's setup on an IP so noone should notice. http://www.hostgator.com/ticket/inde...&root=9&id=160

That's the one I mentioned: "HG's current CPanel demo is well behind what's on my server."

It's several versions behind what's on my server, does not include CPanel Pro, and does not include Fantastico.

I see.. it would be nice if they updated it to the newest version and added a preview of fantastico.

A good example is that the demo Cpannel shows SSH Shell access.. something that is not available for shared accounts.
