I see that the dedicated server page shows sales halted on everything except the most basic package and those are going to halt as well.
What is going on? I'm thinking about moving from reseller to dedicated, is Hostgator going to introduce new dedicated server offerings or no longer offering dedicated servers? Cheers. |

I'm sure that HG will find a way to offer them in the future as I'm sure thePlanet is intersted in expanding as well. |

Actually at this point I'm fairly sure HostGator colocates with The Planet to make more moolah in the end. I think they've run out of their stock of servers. If the DC HG is in is full then they could put a server in any other DC out of The Planet's 5 DC's, if they actually resold their servers. I think they just buy colocation.

Yes, there is room. We are just working on getting in a new stock of servers. We do not want to sell what we do not have so we stopped the sales of everything but the Standards which we have a surplus of.

Mine is working just fine, and a lot faster than my resellers was. I still have a lot of room to grow. If you want piece of mind about stability, complete control of your box, the only way to go. And if it ever gets to the point that I need a faster machine, I know support can clone the basic to the next one up, when they decide on what they will have. |

It's not really that, some people will rather go with a host that had a Dual Xeon or Pentium thinking it will be a crap-load better, which it is. It's really just marketing..
