http://www.hostgator.com/dedicated.shtml
We have resumed sales on all of the Dedicated servers and we have some new options available as well. All of the plans now come with free SETUP and the standard plan is now an AMD Athlon64 3200 equal to a P4 3.2ghz. That comes with a 80gb SATA drive. The Pro plan with Dual Xeons 2.4ghz, now come with 2x80gb SATA drives. If you have been waiting for the Dedicated Servers to resume then nows the chance to grab one.

Only issue I found is
WHM (your control panel to create cPanels) Login info: root / whmdemo doesn't work... it should be demo/demo like the cPanel login because that works. That's the way it's listed on the Reseller page. |

It'd be cool if you guys could also work on exchanging the Basic plan's Celeron with a Sempron. As far as I can tell the Sempron is alot better then a celeron for just about the same price.

Semprons are very motherboard dependent. I seen them preform like crap in one board and the same cpu blow away others with a different motherboard/chipset combo. I would not use them in the server enviroment until AMD starts comming out again with Reference Chipsets. The most stable and realible chipset for the orginal Athlon was the AMD 750/751 Irongate Chipset. I am far a Intel fanboy as I use both and fine both to be great companies.
So If AMD would start producing there own solid chipsets like Intel does, instead of realaying on 3rd party companies ot make them, then I would say go for it switch to AMD. When Mysql 5.0 comes out and and DeadRat Linux(eww) has a stable 64 bit version I would like to see HG start swaping machines out for Operton servers, Especially on servers with heavy mysql loads. |

Personally I like Red Hat Linux. I just never get to work with it really so I'm stuck with Fedora Core. :/ And last time I setup Fedora 64 bit on my AMD Athlon 64 it ran like butter gliding across water. :S

Just a reminder that all these servers are managed, we'll help get them configured and setup for you. Most management companies charge well over $100 month just to manage a server, with HostGator it's included free.

That's maybe why it's a bit expensive. I could mamange my own server cause I got 3 server on my own.
But hey, the price has been fix! So my question: Is it possible to have it non-manage so we get a discount on the monthly price? TX !

I think they used to have it setup that if you didn't want it you could deduct something like $50/mo. from the cost but I guess that isn't on the list anymore.

. But I need to know if they have 100Mbits switch port on the server cause we got alot of extreme high speed customer in the east Canada area. Prices are so cheap that everybody have high speed with minimum 300 KB/s of stable download up to 600 kb/s of stable download. Customer are really complaining on the speed of website around here. tx for your reply David |

They should have 100 mbps ports. Otherwise it's a 10 mbps. :/ Far as I know though the shared servers atleast have 100 mb/s ports. The lagup might be in their ISP. A quick trace route would find the cause.
