Probably a stupid question, but...
Were the dedicated servers intended for selling hosting space? Is it possible for me to sell the space off a dedicated server using the WHM and all the various setup programs that come with the standard reseller package?? "All of our reseller plans come with a free billing manager by whmautopilot, free merchant account, free optional hosting templates to use, and a free enom domain reseller account." -- by any small chance does all this still apply?? Regards Chris |

Absolutely. With a dedicated package, you'll receive everything that comes with the reseller plan and more (such as shell access)

With a reseller package you are buying a certain amount of space on a server that has many other reseller accounts on it as well (sort of a form of shared hosting) in that you are sharing the server with other resellers. The main difference is that you have a master login and can setup any number of shared hosting accounts under your reseller account, thus allowing you to sell hosting space (if so desired) to others under your account.
A dedicated server is just that. You are the only one using the server, and thus you can set it up based on your needs, and you have complete access to the server. In other words, you don't have to worry about other resellers or their clients causing problems on your server, since it will only have you (and possibly your clients) on it. If you are new to hosting, and you decided to get a dedicated server I would definitely recommend getting a fully managed server, so you don't have to worry about all of the OS updates, patches, etc. which can be a nightmare if you're not an experienced sys admin. I don't have a dedicated account, but I think HG's dedicated offerings are managed if I am not mistaken. Hope this helps. David |

Thanks David thats what I thought it was, I'm still in the process of starting my own reseller, but am undecided on host, it's either going to be HG or hostdepartment.com, I'm a lil reluctant in trusting a shared server with clients also so am looking at dedicated as I've seen in other forums ppl having issues with shared reseller account
