Default [Dedicated] Questions about difference between Basic and Standard plan

Hello everybody,
I am planning to take a dedicated server at HG soon.
I don't really know which one to take between Basic and Standard plan.
The 3 differences I can see is :
The price : 45$ , the processor and the HDD.

Here is my questions :
1/ About processor : there is a really big difference in term of performance between these 2 (2.4 Ghz Super Celeron and 2.8 Ghz Pentium 4) ?

2/ About HDD : The bandwidth of S-ATA is around 150Mb/s, right ? What about the bandwitdh HDD on Basic Plan (is it ultra DMA?)

3/ Is there others difference between theses 2 plans ?

Thank you very much,
Have a great day !

Best Regards,
Hadoken

Hadoken,

1/ About processor : there is a really big difference in term of performance between these 2 (2.4 Ghz Super Celeron and 2.8 Ghz Pentium 4) ?

If you're performing lots of mysql queries or operations my recommendation would be to go for the pentium. It makes a large difference.

2/ About HDD : The bandwidth of S-ATA is around 150Mb/s, right ? What about the bandwitdh HDD on Basic Plan (is it ultra DMA?)

The harddrive on the celeron should get around ~100Mb/s.

3/ Is there others difference between theses 2 plans ?

Beyond that there aren't any differences, no.

If you have any further questions don't hesitate to contact sales@hostgator.com

Thank you very much !
I think I'll go for standard plan then.

I really don't know when I have to contact sales team or support team. Because my question was a little technical no ?
Soon I will have some questions about to upgrade from an addon domain on swamp plan to Dedicated. Like what can I do to have no downtime on my email ? how can transfer all of my emails to dedicated ? (should I have to recreate it ?) and others questions that sound technical... on this case, is it better to go with support team or sales team ?

Thanks
Best regards,
Hadoken

Does not matter, if you send a question to the sales team and they can't answer it they will forward it to the support team.

Also take a look at the "Dedicated Support" area of these forums, there are several good threads you (or anyone moving to dedicated) should read
