Not as far as I know.
You are probably better of registering a .de domain with some German registrar.
I have a German client and they have a lot of rules.

Thanks a lot for your answer.

Does this mean

- registrering a .de domain with a German registrar,
- then coming with this to HG for hosting?

What I intend to so is to to have 2 domains, 1 with an .de, 1 with a .com extension, both to be hosted by HG on 1 account. As I saw .com is no problem, but the .de one?

Regards from Germany

Yes, you just need to change the nameservers of the .de domain to HostGator nameservers.

Yes indeed, You can register domains where you want.
In fact it is probably better to keep your domain registration separate from your hosting account.

My client registered with 1und1 in the end and we had to used 1und1's dns servers pointing to the hostgator account to make it work.

Hello Faktor,

Yes we can register a .de domain for $24.95/yr. Although we can register this type of domain we cannot transfer this type of domain to ourselves, and it will also require the use of a dynamic DNS service such as http://www.dyndns.com/

You can view more details on which TLDs here:
