Default Daunting task, definitely

I am having such a hard time and I don't think it should be hard to find out what I need to do.

I have a website(domain name)that I have been working on as time permits. I was on a site called Yola and they were so nice, but, it is so restricted as they want you to use their tools and templates, sitebuilder. That's ok, except I have dreamweaver and don't want it to just sit there useless. Besides, I love all I can build with it.

So now, I sign up at 4 bucks a month with Totalchoicehosting. From reading about their starter plan, I see all these things included, by a green checkmark beside each thing included in package. But then, I open up CPanel only to find out it would cost me 400 dollars a year to have it? This site has to be for businesses but it doesn't say that. How do I know where to go for a small website about traveling the Oregon Coast? I am desparate and heard a lot about hostgator. I need something for "the little people" with all I basically need included like cpanel(or reasonable facsimile, ftp, etc.)

Is hostgator for me? Any help or advice is welcome, denise(new member)

I am not real sure what you are referring to on the $400 a year at the other host you mentioned. I think there is some confusion somewhere since I am familiar with that host (I worked there in tech support for about 3 years) and their plans, like HG, include access to cPanel for no additional charge.

In answer to your question, however, an account here would be very suitable for a site such as the one you describe. If you provide a bit more detail in what you are wanting to do and what tools you need we may be able to be more specific as well. The forum here is one of the best sources for help I have found.

Welcome to hostgator. I am sure you will all the features you want in the smallest package available. You can have any type of HTML, PHP, MySQL in your site as long as you dont break any TOS.
