I migrated to HostGator due to downtime problem with another host. During the past two months, I have had zero down time except for a very short planned system upgrade during a very slow time in the small hours of the day. In short, I have found the service here to be exceptional.

BTW, I'm also a Gazzin refugee. Great prices and the support people (person?) are earnest enough, but in the two weeks I was with them I received over a dozen warnings from Easy Monitor, with significant downtime. Since all this was just after a very bad experience on Surpass, I wasted no time in moving on, and am very pleased with Hostgator. |

Uptime varies per server, of course, and we have almost 30 servers. Our most reliable machine today, might become our most unstable tomorrow due to spammers or users becoming hack targets. Of course when such things happen, we work quickly to get things back in order and minimize downtime.
Historically, our uptime has been above average, and the total number of refunds we pay out each month for failing to meet the 99.9% uptime guarantee account for a very small percentage of our customer base. Give us a try. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. ![]() -Justin |

I signed up for the free trial... whm is kind of out dated but thats ok, I am thinking of just using you all as a backup server so when gazzin fails it rolls over to here. So here's the questions 1. Do you Support DNS Sych (clustering) I know the newer version Gazzin has does. 2. If yes, what is the best TTL to set up NS's so have minimal downtime. 3. Does the clustering update (sych) with the other DNS's automatically or do I have to do it manually so info from clents websites is on both servers and kept up to date. |

I have noticed one issue, from time to time /var or /tmp don't get cleared out go into the red and that messes up the working of PHP/MySql sites but this may be an issue specific to porsche (the machine I'm on). Otherwise I was with a bigger hosting company before (cihost) and in general they had much more uptime issues and general snafu's. In hindsight I guess I stuck with them so long because their tech support was pretty good and thurough. On the whole my opinion is go for it, Hostgator has been a very positive experience! |
