Default Cpanel stats

Hi,

When i orginally signed up my starts (particularly awstats) was updated at midnight every night on the servers. I could log into the stats on my domain and subdomains and it would be recent data without me having to "refresh" the page.

I found a week or 2 ago that it was no longer in the nightly poll and have emailed support 2-3 times about this. Everytime after i get a response the stats are updated to the current date, but when i log in a few days later they havent been refreshed and are dated the same day as i've emailed support.

Is anyone else having this issue or can offer a suggestion?

Thanks,

Chris

Cool Re: Cpanel stats

Chris, I have had this problem as well. There are three possibilities why this is happening.

1. You have exceeded your webspace limit. If you are over your limit, no statistics will update until you delete enough stuff off of your account, that you no longer exceed the limit.

2. Sometimes, very popular sites (hit wise and/or bandwidth wise) take too long to update their statistics, that as they are updating the server stops; then the next night, the same thing happens. If it jams, all sites which are after the site which jammed the updater in the first place, don't get updates.

3. Sometimes, the server just stops updating because there is too other stuff going on. I have had problem before, and contacted support. They said that someone's cron job was taking to long so my stats wouldn't update.

My story: I had all three of these happen to me before. The only time I have ever had trouble fixing this issue is when other sites 'take away' the server's time to get to my needed stat update. I contacted support with this issue several times, and they said it worked fine, or that they 'fixed it'. However, it wasn't fixed. Unfortuantly I had to email the president of HostGator, (Brent) personally, and explain this issue. The next day when I got on to check my email, Brent emailed me back saying he fixed the issue, and explained what the problem was. It worked!!

I am not trying to insult any of the other staff who didn't fix the issue because, I don't think I explained the issue well enough for them to fix.

Chris, I hope this helps you out, and if you have any other questions/problems, feel free to PM me.

Default Re: Cpanel stats

i was going to start a new topic but because its related to this subject i thought i would put it here instead i hope that is ok with you( if not can someone edit it or move it lol)

ok my question is about AWSTATS i have been into my AWSTATS via the cpanel and one or two of the stats scripts look very appealing but i want to intergrate them into my phpnuke site i have found modules that will do this for me but by the looks of it you already need AWSTATS installed so i did some searching and found my AWSTATS in the /tmp/awstats/ folder and i thought great it will work but...... the folder and files of AWSTATS is write protected and because of that i get the following error

Code:
Warning: file_get_contents(/home/cappi/tmp/awstats/awstats.bravocompany.org.uk.html): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/cappi/public_html/modules/AWStats/index.php on line 42
can you help me with this? maybe a little advise on how i can get around it or maybe you can chmod the folder for me or the last thing i thought of was maybe install another copy of the AWSTATS inside my public_html folder

any help is greatly appreciated

also if anyone else wants to have the stats on there website or port system you can get the following modules: Webalizer Module 0.1.4 , AWStats Module 0.1.1, Analog Module 0.1 and you can find them here Site Stats Download area
