Default cPanel 11.28 Testing

Howdy!

We have upgraded cPanel to 11.28 on the following Shared servers:
Gator500 -> Gator1276.

We have also upgraded cPanel to 11.28 on our reseller servers that start with A-M. This goes from reseller server Abarth up to MX6.

****Update -- 1/4****
cPanel is scheduled to release 11.28 to STABLE today / tonight. If they complete this push to 11.28, we will be updating the rest of our farm on Wednesday and Thursday, pending any major issues.

If you find any issues with the new version, please open a support ticket ( support [at] hostgator.com ).

We should have all of our servers upgrade to 11.28 by Thursday, Nov. 18th.

Feel free to reply here with any suggestions / comments / concerns as well.

I have it on my dedicated server, as I have it set to auto update to RELEASE, and it seems to be just fine. Some icon changes and rearranging, but thats not a problem.

Cpanel is moving 11.28 to Stable on Thursday so we are wanting to make sure all of our in house software works. We had it set to release but changed it to Stable just before 11.28 was moved to Release for further testing. There have been a few problems that cpanel is working on but it is going a lot smoother than the previous update from 11.25 to 11.26. Hopefully the updates will continue to go smoothly. Once everything is done, we will go back to Release.

I'm curious if gator518 at 74.53.86.114 has issues with the cpanel update or if I just caught it at a bad time? I get: "Thank You for installing cPanel / WHM."

518 should already be updated. If you are still showing "Thank You for installing cPanel / WHM." Please try a hard refresh in your browser. Otherwise, please submit a ticket with the url that you are seeing that on and we can get it fixed.

Thanks Carl.

I have a VPS and has automatically been upgraded to 11.28 a couple of days ago.
I have had my cpanel downgraded again from 11.28 to 11.26 again, because the new version seems sluggish (doesn't run smoothly, but everything takes longer to load)...It has been confirmed by (according to your level I sysadmin) reports in the cpanel forums. So I hope Cpanel has this bugfixed before release.

This is fantastic, from what I've heard, the new cPanel is supposed to be much better.

I'm seeing cPanel 11.28.35 on Gator 734.

Only minor "glitch" I see so far is that, when Server Status is clicked, the left sidebar shows red bars (no numbers) under Processes Running and Inodes on return to the main page.

Not exactly an earth-shattering "bug", but thought I'd mention it in case it scares somebody.

--
To reproduce, click Server Status and then Go Back. Thereafter, clicking Program Versions and then Go Back gets rid of it.

Well, this isn't new, but maybe you could persuade the File Manager HTML Editor to put its stupid .smilies folder under cPanel's own directory instead of my web root. Not knowing where it came from scared the crap out of me a few days ago.

No biggie. I seldom use it anyhow. It probably has to put it there for HTML access and visibility, although why cPanel's HTML editor needs its own smilies at all is an open question.

This would need to be addresses at the cPanel forums, specifically the feature sub-forum I believe.

Updated first post with more servers. We have effectively updated half of our servers to cPanel 11.28.

Thanks for everyones contributions!

I doubt that they'd pay much attention to a lone complainer like myself. And since it's a dotted folder name (.smilies), most users probably won't notice and be bothered by it in the first place.

Anyhow, having browsed through almost all of the updated cPanel's features, I can see nothing else to bellyache about. Thanks for your response.

Hi Jeff,

We're still in the process of upgrading. We're doing the servers in blocks of 50 right now, and it's going sequentially. I'd guess that you should see 11.28 in the next hour or so.

Thanks!

Mornin! I was able to drag it, however I wasn't able to collapse it. What browser are you using? Mind if I check your specific cPanel as well?

Mornin Jean!

Yeppers your server looks to be upgraded now to 11.28. Like you said, there should only be a couple of minutes of cPanel downtime as it downloads the new binaries and libraries and than restarts into the new version.

Please let me know if there are any issues with the new versions.

I have noticed since the cpanel update that Cloudflare no longer works properly.

Example:
Cloudflare enabled: http://MYSITE.com goes to: http://www.MYSITE.com/public_html/MYSITE.com/

If I use the www it works fine.

Help!

domain.com/webmail...

The images of the 3 Webmail application are not clickable! You must now use the small text link under called Read Mail Using SquirrelMail or the other 2..

Not cool as customers open ticket as they cannot open their SquirrelMail apps as they were use to click on the image !

Oh well, let's go post on cPanel forums.

Jean,

Is this only on a certain domain? I tried to replicate this on multiple machines and I was un-successful. Can you PM me a domain that I can try this on?
