I'm looking for a new webhost since my current webhost has had tons of problems with their MySQL response time. My questions are:
1) How well does HostGator work with a CMS (I'm currently using Mambo)? 2) What are the maximum amount of connections allowed at any given time for MySQL (again, using a CMS, my whole website relies on MySQL). 3) When I transfer my files over to HostGator will my links remain the same? Thanks, Steve |

More than likely, unless you change the directory structure manually or something or you have a really different setup on your current host. |

Thanks for replying kmaw. Another question, does the semi-dedicated package have the same limit on connections? My site isn't large enough yet to worry about having 600-700 users at one time (although we have had spikes of 200+ depending on what content we add), but I like to plan ahead a little.

Semi should have more, but you can ask sales for the exact number.

You can have up to 50 connections on a semi-dedicated.

Hostgators control panel is the best as it used a 'cPanel' and it supports Fantastico.. so you can install all the major CMS with one click.... And MySQL is also fine.. and its easy to manage databases....
