Default Cost to transfer domain names

After telneting a lot of sites and looking at hosts (and I mean a lot), asking friends, I can say this is the BEST one for the prices with all of the different features you offer.

I have five .net domain names I wanna transfer. I am new to this and was wondering if host gator transfered domain names for free or what happens with that.

Thanks

We offer two kinds of transfers.
1)Shared Web Hosting Transfers - http://www.hostgator.com/transfer.php
Host Gator will transfer ONE primary domain name and all its contents.
After that additional primary domains will have a one time $5 charge.

2)Reseller Hosting Transfer - http://www.hostgator.com/resellertransfer.php
Host Gator will transfer the primary domain as well as up to 20 client domains for free. Additional client domains will have a one time $5 charge.

Host Gator will not transfer an add-on domain to a primary domain.

Don't be fooled, HostGator doesn't have the best prices. There are MANY hosting companies with cheaper prices and many features, some better than HG's.

If price is the most important factor for you, then HG isn't really the best, but you need to re-evaluate your priorities, because price is far from the most important thing on the list.

IMO, four things are important for a hosting company to have:

1. Reasonable prices. (not the lowest, but not robbery either)
2. 24/7 support that you can actually get on the phone when you need them, with a good knowledge base or an active forum. (HG's knowledge base IS their forum, the other one isn't so good)
3. A proven record of quailty hosting and disaster plans when things don't really work like they should. Along with that, they can't be on the verge of going out of business or oversold to the hilt.
4. A range of plans that include things that I might need in the future, from shared to dedicated servers.

In those four areas, HostGator is in the top 5% of hosts. I've been with them for a while and I wouldn't be here if I knew of a better hosting company!
