I have been using HostGator for several years for my personal websites (shared hosting).
I am preparing to move a client website at work from their current dedicated server to a HostGator dedicated server. My biggest concern is moving email from the old server to the new server. While there are relatively few accounts, the accounts use the plaintext-mbox format with an old sendmail installation. cpanel/exim-mta use maildir... Will HostGator do the conversion from mbox to maildir for me? Note: The old server does not have a cpanel install. I would swear I read somewhere on the HostGator website that email moves are not supported, but that does not appear to be stated on the transfer services page. The knowledge base says that HostGator will convert account, but I just want to be sure before I purchase the dedicated server. Quote:
