Well,

The files were copied over by the HG support team, however they missed some subfolders, but I spotted the differences and filled the holes.

I have done a sneak preview of the site and seems to be OK, just that it is still poiting to the database at the old host (following Impavidus´s advice). Will change DNS settings in a few hours this evening and hope to let it propagate and be effective over the week-end.

The databse is already copied over too (but I suppose I will have to bring the updated version)

I contacted HG support staff to point me in the right direction and specifically instruct me what changes I needed to do and where to then point to database in HG server and make the shift complete.

They gave me the generic info.....nothing very specific , and all the time I insisted that I was not a technical guy....eventually the pointed me to the public_html/s-cart/conf.inc file.....but I checked this file and there was no mention in there of the old host server info nor the database info and I realised that I didnt use the s-cart AGora Shopping Cart, so surely it couldnt be there.

Then I remembered Impavidus mentioned the config.php file.....finally I see that there is the info that points to the old host and this is where I have to make the necessary changes. So I sent HG support staff a copy of this file and asked me to fill in the blanks and tell me specifically all the data that I need to alter.

Looking forward to receiving that while the DNS takes effect.

Hello to all,

Just to inform that the transfer to Hostgator is complete......database etc all is done and working very well indeed.
