Default Considering HostGator

First I have been reading all the forums and I want to thank the staff and the dedicated members for their posts.
I have had two prior commerce sites but my wife and I are both disabled now and live on SSA. Our medical bills and subscripstion have eaten up our retirement ac****s, our CD's and savings.
I still have several thousand dollars of inventory and want get back in busines but funds are low so I am looking for the best for the less.
I believe I have found the best right here but not being a designer, the building the web page concerned me. The two free web site builders just was not enough so I decided to go with Soholaunch Pro Edition for the web site builder, built in templates, templates you can purchase along with the build in eccomerce site.
So I researched Soholaunch Pro but I also discovered that there are sites similar to HostGator that offer Soholaunch Pro free.
Question is, Has anyone heard a rumor that HostGator may be considering offering Soholaunch Pro free or are they already doing it. I found an add on Google search Hostgator Soholaunch is free, I guess it meant the free addition.
I hope the answer is yes, If so sign me up.

Thanks AngelFire for the Quick Response but I have already been to that link. Down at the bottom of the page you can pay the $149.00 which I was going to do but I wanted more information Soholauch. I was not looking for another web hosting site just as much information I could find on Soholaunch.
Thanks Again

If your primary interest is building an e-commerce site, Soho in any flavor would not make it easy, but more difficult.

Your best bet is one of the open source/free shopping carts, several of which can be installed through Fantastico and many more of which are available on the internet.

If you want a site that is both "site" and "e-commerce" you could use one of the content management systems (CMS) with cart add-ons: Drupal/ubercart; Joomla/virtuemart; and a couple of others. These are also open-source, and ubercart has a nifty web-based installation tool.

There are several reasons why "site builders" such as the Soho flavors are counter-productive for you. First, they use proprietary coding that makes moving such a site difficult, as well as difficult to incorporate e-commerce. Second, they impair the learning of skills you have to have to run an e-commerce site.

In your case, IMO, going for what seems like the easiest at the beginning will, almost immediately, become harder to work with.

I have used HG for over a year with no problems. Just upgraded too and that was pretty smooth.

vmedia,

FYI, that looks to be an HG-copyright image you're hosting offsite (photoshack.com is hosted by 1and1) and that's a no-no here.

That one is okay, it's not tied to anything malicious

OK. My bad. Apologies!

So.... Hostgator doesn't mind if I copy their website images (like the Gator eating the letter), and host them offsite?

That's generous of you, and surprising, considering that most of today's corporations scream bloody murder if you do. Protecting their intellectual property and all that.

Good to know. I might put some Gators on my website to advertise you guys then.

Yes that is refreshing to know. I generally host all banners and buttons for such things on my server to ensure fast loading times, and reduce the external content on my pages.

And so you can do affiliate stuff?

Why you are discussing your pages when Mark's comment was about these pages seems clear.

Please eliminate the hidden image in your signature. I believe you have been warned before.
