Now, I KNOW this is a dumb question (if you can't tell I came with a few... figured separate threads were better for the forums) but...
I've got a reseller account and I'm integrating WHMAP... Then there's WHM... I set up a package for myself on WHM when I registered - and a couple of "test" ones... starter, personal, gold... THEN, when WHMAP was set up and ready to go I began integrating it into my site and realized they weren't the same thing! So, now I've set up more plans on WHMAP... they don't seem to show up in WHM, however (unless I'm confused)... My question is: Are these two things (WHM and WHMAP) completely separate? What am I managing when I access WHM versus WHMAP? AP does my billing, etc... but doesn't it also create accounts? Do I want to create a billing account for myself or what? It seems a little confusing that plans be created in multiple places... where should I go for what? CPanel, to make sure I have some idea of what the world is like, is to individually manage each domain - I get that... so what's the deal with WHM and AP?

Yes, WHM and WHMAP are indeed two seperate entities.
WHM (Web Host Manager) is your core management software for creating hosting plans, setting up accounts, etc. WHMAP (Web Host Manager AutoPilot) is a client management/ordering/billing application that's designed to integrate with WHM to automate account creations (or not), and is compliant with certain payment processors and gateway API's (Application Programming Interface) and enom's domain registration API. As well as some other things. WHMAP does NOT create/configure hosting plans. You must create them in WHM first and then 'match' that info in AutoPilot. AutoPilot can then create client accounts based on those plans, as it provides a step by step ordering process for your customers. The best thing to do is familiarize yourself with the WHMAP manual, and visit the WHMAP forums for more info: http://www.whmautopilot.com/usermanu..._v2_manual.htm and http://www.whmautopilot.com/forum/index.php And make sure your installation of AutoPilot has the latest upgrade. Look around at http://www.whmautopilot.com/ Les K |
