Default Comparison of shopping carts

Looks like we can choose among a number of shopping carts made available to us by HG.

-Interchange shopping cart
-Agora shopping cart
-Instant osCommerce
-Cube Cart

I have only built informational sites until now, so I have no experience with ecommerce.

Can anyone compare/review/recommend/discuss any of these?

Thanks,
-Jeff_s

Don't even try Interchange there are incompatabilities between it, shared servers (without telnet) and apparently cpanel.

OSCommerce is pretty nice and if you are not inclined to customize there are commercial themes available.

Thanks for the links and comments.

Seems that OsCommerce clearly wins the "Ask the Audience" poll.

In one thread it stated:

I've been using OScommerce ... if you need to upload a lot of products there really is no, good, solution for doing that in Oscommerce.
My client will be doing this. He is selling one-off items (salvaged parts). So he will be adding items constantly. Do any packages have a way to import a list of items for sale from, say, a spreadsheet?

I'm presuming the carts won't let you sell more of an item than you have on hand.

I don't think he'll care about multilingual nor drop shipping capabilities.

Would these facts change anyone's recommendation?

Thanks,
-Jeff_s

Oscommerce allows for importing price lists from spreadsheet (CSV files). You should check out their site they have a ton of contributions & resources on there :-)

Oh, I've been to all their sites. They all say they're the best! I was just looking for experienced advice.

I just found the csv import feature for oscommerce, now that I knew to look for it.

Thanks for the help! I guess I'll make a test site and take the plunge with oscommerce.

It allows importing prices, but if you need to import options, you would be better of with X-Cart.
