I am considering switching to HG. However my current web host provider allows me to add my own CNAMES and A records through a web based DNS manager.
Some of my subdomains actually point to IP addresses OUTSIDE of my web host provider. I have a dedicated server that I control in my office with a static IP that I use to test new technologies with. Hence the need to set subdomains up that point to my test box. Am I able to do this with HG? All I could find was to set subdomains to a directory within my webspace. |

Yes. If you have a reseller or dedicated account you can do it yourself easily. If you have a shared account you'll have to ask HG support to setup the records for you-- just send them the correct A and CNAME information and they'll do it.
