Default Clustered Hosting vs. Dedicaded Hosting

Hello,
What you guys think about Clustered Hosting ? is this the Web Hosting 2.0 ?

It has had it's up and downs. One of the more famous implementations was done by MediaTemple. It's a great idea but it's had constant errors and database issues since they brought it up.

My personal opinion is that it's definitely the future of hosting but not quite ready for primetime yet. I have a feeling the HG people have been investigating.

I wouldn't say that Clustered hosting would be like web hosting 2.0 but it is a step for when needing a powerful solution when a single server can't handle anymore the load or need high availability.

If you are serious about clustered hosting, take a look for AppLogic. It offer both clustered and load balancing at the same time in a virtual environment and take only two servers to start instead of the 4 servers for load balancing and clustered solution to separate databases and web.

You can do so much with this application. It even have the cPanel module.
