[Closed] SUbdomain redirect question

Hello again,

I have mike-uhler.com set up as a subdomain of onthedial.com. When someone visits the main URL or [code:1:8b02de0f7e]http://URL/directory/[/code:1:8b02de0f7e] it maintains the domain name of mike-uhler.com

However, if I were to visit [code:1:8b02de0f7e]http://URL/directory[/code:1:8b02de0f7e] without that last slash, it redirects to the add-on domain URL (mu.onthedial.com) instead of staying at mike-uhler.com.

How can I get this fixed? When I visit URLs off my main domain w/o that last slash, it understands to look for the directory on that domain, but since I am dealing with a subdomain/add-on domain, it appears not to be intuitive.

Make sense?

http://www.mike-uhler.com/board

Do you get redirected on the second link to the subdomain instead of staying at the add-on domain?

What exactly is it you are trying to accomplish here? I'm not sure I understand.

Ok, I think I follow now...

Instead of redirecting from http://www.mike-uhler.com/board
try redirecting from http://www.mike-uhler.com/board/index.php and see what that does for you.

Exactly, I don't want the subdomain (mu.onthedial.com) to be shown, I only want the add-on domain (www.mike-uhler.com) to show, and I am trying to figure out why it redirects to the subdomain (mu) when the last '/' is left off.

Yeah, but then I'd ave to trust that visitors are using absolute paths to the forum, and I can tell by the stats that a good number of them end up at the subdomain instead of the add-on domain. It's just a pet peeve of mine - it should look seamless, and it doesn't.

Can you try my suggestion?

I believe if you redirect from www.domain.com/directory/index.php it should work for you even if your users arrive by entering www.domain.com/directory
