That if/when I want to cancel my hosting account here, I can do so painlessly.

I'm currently being ignored by my last host, who went to HELL after selling out to a crud company, after I put a cancel request in June to cancel. They ignored it, and have already billed me for July.

PLEASE tell me this won't happen with you guys! I'm loving it here so far, but my experience with hosts gives me ulcers and high blood pressure. You guys aren't like this, right?! You do understand people canceling their accounts, right? You do LET them, correct?

(Anybody have any advice as to what legal grounds I have? I'd appricate it.)

I realize this post is all-over-the place... I'm very upset at finding out they continue to bill me.

Sorry, but our customers are not permitted to cancel accounts.

Kidding, of course.

If and when you choose to cancel your account, simply submit an email to support@hostgator.com with your account details (account name, username, password) and mention that you would like to cancel. After some verification, we will cancel your account. Quick and easy.

Vandora,

Are you another bitstream refugee? I seem to recall seeing posts from you over there. I'm trying to get all moved in here as well and hopefully won't have problems cancelling my account with them[bitstream that is] - so far so good here. I think I can cancel it through my Paypal subscription if they don't respond otherwise.

Indeed I am! Lol, must be a good sign that we're both here. No complaints so far! I wish I were setup with Paypal over there... But you should be able to take it up with Paypal if they give you grief. As for me, I still haven't heard from them. :x

Hi Vandora,

You say they continue to bill you...

If you have proof that you canceled, just send it back with every bill.

If they are grabbing money right out of your credit/debit card or checkking account, speak to a live human at your bank/CC company and tell them your problem. They'll scold you for setting up such an account, and probably charge you a fee, but they can arrange that the debits attempts are denied.

Good Luck!

Thanks for making the distinction, Arecher.

I'm going to go ahead and close this one sine the original question has been answered.
