cpanel is down on all of our accounts on lexus.

furthermore, mysql has reverted back to the way the data was on the last day of April. The last 7 days worth of data is gone.

anyone else experiencing this?

I'm just now logging on for the day and am not noticing the problem, so I assume it has been corrected. Please reply here if you are still having trouble.

yes, i am still having problems.

i can get into cpanel when i use the ip address, but not when i use domain name.

i have another post that talks about horde mail not working. this almost seems related. the message is:

A fatal error has occurred:

DB Error: connect failed

[line 108 of /usr/local/cpanel/base/horde/lib/Prefs/sql.php]

Details have been logged for the administrator.

This brings me to the last thing - mysql. I get different results if i log into phpmyadmin and look at my database than if i query it from the webserver.

all these issues seem dns related to me. from my end it seems like the db server is on a different box and it is having trouble talking to lexus. did lexus just get migrated?

feel free to close my other post and we can combine in this one if you'd like.

thx fox all your help - you and the rest of the team's responsiveness is well noted.

Yes, Lexus has been migrated. You should have received an email detailing the move. It will also contain info regarding any necessary DNS/IP changes. Let me know if you did not receive thie email.

I have been told that an email was dispatched to all addresses on file as account holders. If you did not receive the email, perhaps your email address has changed since signing up? Maybe it was caught in a spam filter?

I was also told that any emails that were bounced back were re-sent to the contact email found on the sites.

I am asking that the email be resent to you at the address you mentioned above.

None of the email circumstances you mentioned are the case - but I did get the resent email. Thanks.

According to the email:

We emailed out a very important email regarding name servers already. Please do not
ignore this email.

I did not get this email either.

The issue with being able to login to horde, cpanel, and different results between phpmyadmin queries and queries from the webserver still exist.

ok, per the email you resent, i logged into whm and changed all of our themes to X. Now I can login to cpanel on all our sites. Awesome.

But, still cannot login to horde mail - still get the same db error message.

Also, it still seems that the content of the sites is as it was on the last day of april. The databases look as the did on april 30th and we have at least one instance of some files we uploaded that are not there now.

As for the old files, you probably uploaded the to the old server and not the new. If you re-upload them tothe new server (using the ip given in your email) you should be fine.

i also wanted to mention that now that i changed cpanel, when i go to phpmyadmin i get the same results as the webserver. before, i was logging through the old ip address.

but, the data in the databases is still several days old. only if i login to http://69.57.175.146/cpanel do I see the correct database results.

hope this helps.

1. files that were uploaded are not present.

the reason i think they should be there is because in one instance i made a change in the database and uploaded a picture at virtually the same time. its a dbase driven site and the change was made in the html (retrieved from db) but the picture does not show up.

here is the instance i am referring to:
http://www.reynoldsstriping.com/striping/

now, i'd have no problem uploading that pic. but, we have a team of 3 guys working on any one of over 10 sites. We also host customers that do their own sites. It might be difficult to identify everything that needs updating in a timely fashion.

2. horde mail is not working

getting the same error message i mentioned in a previous post. neomail and squirrelmail work. outlook was able to pop everything down.

Ok, for the files, you should grab them from your old server and then re-upload them to the new server. To ensure you are connected to the new server, use the IP given in your email notice.

I will see what I can find out about horde.

again, finding all the files that have not made it over in the transfer would be very difficult. first, we wouldn't be sure how far to look back. second, we have customers who dynamically add data through interfaces. we'd have no way of knowing what they may have done in that time. third, we have customers that we don't control their usernames/passwords or files. We have no way of knowing what they might have updated...or a time frame to tell them when to look.

we are potentially looking at a very difficult situation.

if indeed, files were not moved over from the old server, and you can verify this, i'm not sure me uploading some files will fix the problem you guys will have. i'm really not trying to be harsh, your help so far has been wonderful, it just seems that other customers of yours on this server might be experiencing the same thing.

i actually emailed that address earlier today with the same problem. they asked for my information, i sent it back, and i haven't heard anything on it.

i've resent an email with the problem to support@hostgator.com

what about the difference in the files? have you been able to verify the difference? at what point was the server switched?

horde is now working.

what do we want to do about the files? is that something you guys are going to try and remedy or do I need to start on that?

Since I do not have access to the servers, the email (or IM) support guys will need to finalize the deal with your files. I believe what will need to happen is that they may have to re-copy your files over from the old server.
