Waiting for upate from planet looks like some type of hardware issue.

is what we were told..

They got the box back up for us so we are now analyzing it more and going to attempt to fix the problems.. below is what they did to get us ssh.
(Steps performed)
In grub:

init=/bin/bash

$ mount -t proc none /proc
$ mount -o remount,rw /
$ /usr/sbin/sshd &

Lyron was able to fix the problem, and everything is back to normal now. This box may go down again in the near future for a scheduled hard drive swap which will take around 40 minutes to swap out a failing drive.
