When you are installing a CGI script, and it says to CHMOD a directery to 777. Please keep it CHMODed to 755. Your scripts will not work if it is set at 777.

yes if you are using coranto (a news publishing script) you have to have all the cgi files chmodded to 755

Not really not all scripts are this way, it depends on the way they are scripted. Also im not sure bot I think I have herd it depends on the host aswell.
