Changing Main Domain

EDIT: I contacted support about getting a code to transfer my domain, and they answered the rest of my questions too, so everything is ok now. Thanks HG.


I currently have 4 domains pointing at my hosting account, one I registered with HG as my main domain and 3 addon domains registered elsewhere. What I want is to move my main domain so it is registered in the same place as the others, and then make one of the addon domains my main domain instead.

From reading the forums I have some idea what I need to do, but these changes all cost money so I wanted some confirmation before I make them.

1. I opened a support ticket to get the auth code to tranfer my domain to a different registrar. All the other domains point at the correct name servers.
2. I understand I need to use this form to switch another domain to be my main one - will it make a difference if I do this before I transfer the domain or not?

I guess I then just add all my addon domains again, and try to set up the right redirects - is that all correct?
