Default Changing a main domain name.

I recently joined as a baby gator 12 mth account.
I picked a domain name, before I read how one should do that and now I have decided it is no good and I do not want to use it, at all.
Can I change my main domain name?
I have not made a site as such, but I have published site coming.
To let you see the problem my initial domain name is eftsessions.com.
The domain name I have now decided I want to use is EFTSuccessCoaching which is so much clearer about what the site is supposed to be.
Can I do this?
Any help, ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.

You will also need to register the new domain before you can use it for your account.

You can request that (and other things) directly from:

I would also take a look at cPanels Manual http://www.cpanel.net/support/docs/11/cpanel/ Its a very good place to start. Let us know if you have any more questions.

Two questions regarding changing the main account domain at https://secure.hostgator.com/changedomain.php

1. I understand what are
"Your primary domain name"
"The new domain you want to use"

but what is "The domain you want changed"?

2. Before I change the primary domain I have to delete all addon domains.
This means they will be inaccessible until not set back.
How long does the process via form https://secure.hostgator.com/changedomain.php take?
Is it done immediately after I click submit?

1. The domain you want changed is exactly that, the domain that you wish to modify. It's worded this way because there are resellers that want to change a domain on their account that is not actually their primary domain. If you are changing your primary domain, just put that in that field.

2. Completing the form creates a ticket, ticket response time in sales right now is a little over an hour.

I'm close to take the same decision about changing my main domain, but I am in doubt about some things.

Add on domains do they just keep working, and if they have databases will they keep working?

Subdomains, do I have to delete those first, if not will they just keep working as before?

I guess the old main domain is moved to a folder and added as an add-on domain, but is all the files moved with it or do I have to move those myself afterwards?

Is there anything else with regards to folders, sub/addon domains, databases that I should/will be changed.

Thanks.

PS. I'm doing this because my main domain is a wordpress blog and that makes it difficult to make redirects and other things because wordpress mess with the .htaccess.

I'm interested in this too.

I'm guessing they should definitely work?
