Default Changing DNS.

I got my account info email from HostGator and since I am transfering my site, it says I need to change my name servers. I believe that my domain is registered with Enom.com, but my last webhost registered it for me. I don't have any login information to get in to change the DNS. What should I do?
Domain: 2bornot2b.net

Cool Re: Changing DNS.

Hostgator support, you have only given the help file answer.
How/what can your client do in the case that you are not the registrar and what is the escalation process thereafter.
eg: why not do a lookup at whois and see who the registrar is etc.
What about value adding?

I have a similar problem with a domain and there are not many helpfull people ot there!

If you have access to any of the emails in the whois info, preferably ownership, you will propbably be able to gain control of the domain without too many problems. The process varies from registrar to registrar but they all have methods in place for this sort of situation.

Definately do a whois...if you don't know what this is, I recommend going to web.com, clicking on the whois button in the upper right corner. It will prompt you for the domain name you are interested it. And then if you scroll down, it will tell you who the register is and provide contact info. You should contact this person and try to obtain control over your domain name - login and password. If at all possible, you should ALWAYS control your own domain name because if someone else buys it for you, unscrupulous people can hold your domain name ransom and it can be very difficult to get it back.
