Where should I put the analog.cfg to customize my Analog stats output? Webalizer usually looks for webalizer.conf(?) elsewhere so users can customize thier output. Just wondering if I can do the same for Analog.

I have no real idea about your analog.cfg file, but I know all about the webalizer side. Maybe they work similarly?
There is a script supplied with cpanel (cpanellogd?). This script formerly looked for a customized webalizer.conf file in the location /home/acctname/webalizer.conf (Note that the /home/acctname folder is what you see as your root folder when you log on to your account with ftp or cpanel file manager.) But around 1 Sept 2005, that script was changed. Now the script looks for /home/acctname/tmp/webalizer/webalizer.conf (I now keep webalizer.conf files in both locations in case it switches back.) So maybe cpanel does something similar for analog stats. Please let us know in this thread if you figure it out! At least one major hosting company recently dropped support of webalizer. This is most likely not do-able without a dedi.

A dedicated? I hope not!
Ill try a custom analog.cfg in different places for now.. I do plan on getting a VPS once I learn linux (Im getting another box monday just for learning). I actually prefer looking at raw log files but hostgator sends them to the abyss after what seems like only hours! Im starting a new thread on that one :-) |
