Century Server

I use a third party service to constantly monitor my sites to ensure that they are up. Almost everyday for the past week I have experienced some downtime. In speaking with HostGator support, it seems that the downtime occurs when they reset the server (century).

Why is the server constantly rebooted? I can understand an interruption every once in a while, but not this often.
