Cannot delete Double index file

Hi there,

I've found this index.php file twice on my webspace, which one of them cannot be deleted, it wasn't there yesterday which is odd. When trying to delete it states:

ftp error 550: no such file or directory.

Which eventually results in an error 403 or 404. I temporaly placed a index.html but the site cannot be put offline for long.

Are you using the file explorer in cPanel?

If so then try another method. Are you familiar with FTP? Or maybe try somthing like FlashFXP - it's very easy to use.

Thank you for helping out. I first used WS_ftp to delete and got the 550 error, but the problem was solved by deleting the file with Cpanel, which is odd.
