Positive Can we say good server response times???

OK...I have to know...do all HGs servers have the incredibly good response times Viper has.
I am completely impressed with the speed as well as the fact that for the first time in MONTHS, (not only on my own servers, but on others as well), FTP did not time out ONCE! ***THUD***

Seriously, are all of HG's servers as well maintained and not over sold?

Peace

Wolf

Viper is one of our newest boxes and has been performing incredibly well.
As for the other machines, we do not oversell ANY of our servers, so performance is pretty much the same across the board (until we get a naughty user, of course)

Thanks for the nice post, AlphaWolf.

Yeah, I noticed it was a 4 processor box with only about 8% sold, so I figured it would out perform some of your boxes, but I have to tell you - if the others come even close to this kind of performance, your product is excellent!

I have 2 servers none of which I have sold over 50% of (trying to keep response times good with a lot of php/mysql accounts), so response time is really good for them. Again, except when an errant program hiccups or a single account suddenly gets 600 visitors in an hour...chuckle

But I think very few hosting clients realize the extra expense involved from a web host in watching carefully and not selling to capacity. Kudos to you guys if that is how you are running all your shared servers (or trying to at least). most hosts do NOT do this. Not a problem if they host many small static sites, but once you start in on processor intensive CMS systems it hits the servers hard.

Folks who get into hosting computing their profits on selling 100% of their disk space are the ones who offer the ridiculously cheap plans and sadly, (or good for hosts who don't over sell a box - chuckle), their customers soon learn the meaning of sllllloooowwwwww.

Thanks for being so responsible

peace

Wolf
