Default Cache problems with ISP????

Ok, if you are having cache problems with your ISP, sign up and use opendsn at opendns.com

If they have a cache problem, you can clear their cache!

Can't one save the money and just use an open proxy IP and port?

That's such a generalisation it's laughable.

I've used hundreds of proxies some anon some transparent and never any noticeable slowness.

I think you're using the wrong ones Sam!

OpenDNS is useful if you need it, otherwise just use your ISP's default ones.

Actually openDNS has a lot of features, if you want to use them.

Could it help us with our Mailling issues if I would put the DNS of OpenDNS on our main router at work instead of our ISP by default??

No, normally mail problems are not the result of DNS issues. You'd see the emails stuck on the queue if you were having outgoing email connect issues. From what you've said, the emails go out, but never arrive at the destination.

That problem is normally an issue on the receiving end. So, not technically your problem, but it may be the result of your settings. You want to look in mailwatch at the headers of the outgoing messages and see if they are flagged with any issues. If you can find some headers, send them to me and I'll look at them for you.

Basically, you need to have firm evidence of the missing emails before you can really investigate. I've found that too often the missing emails are bogus anyway. I've only ever found ONE email issue that wasn't a user issue I couldn't correct. That was because the customer's customer's server was blocking incoming emails because the customer's customer had blacklisted the user.

If you are running mail scanner, spamd doesn't run. So shutdown always fails.
