Red face C-Panel-Add On Domain and Email Probs

Im unclear

1. How to point an add on domain to a subdirectory on my webspace. I've carefully read the instructions, but they are not very detailed, and if you are new to this it's hard to know what they mean sometimes.

My domain is for example: boho.com
I set up the dns for the domain name www.dogfish.com which is hosted at Godaddy to point to exactly same IP as my main domain name (presume that was right?):
Then I created a sub domain on my main account called : dogfish.boho.com
Now I want www.dogfish.com to point to this subdomain.
When I go to add on domains it asks for:

New Domain Name:
Username/directory/subdomain Name:
Password:

I am not sure first whether to put the whole domain name in the first box:
ie: www.dogfish.com or http://dogfish.com or just dogfish.com

I am also not sure what they mean by
Username/directory/subdomain Name
Is this my normal user name? ie; Froga ?

And what do they mean by directory? Which directory are they referring to;
I realise this is probably VERY basic stuff, but I cant figure it out.

Do they want me create a new password, or to use my normal log in password?
and then do I need subdomain redirection as well?
Thanks for any help!

PS. To any support staff, my email forwarding to a hotmail account doesn't seem to work. I've followed the instructions and watched the Flash movies, and I think I have done the right things;
ie
Current Forwarders info@boho.com man@hotmail.com

Catch all : All unrouted mail will be sent to:

boho.com man@hotmail.com

I assumed doing the above would first forward any mail addressed to info@ boho.com to my hotmail account and then forward any user at my domain to my hotmail account, but neither seem to work...
Thanks again anyone who helps...

I believe you are confusing sub-domains with add-on domains - they are 2 completely differtent entities. WHich of these are you wanting exactly?

1. Your Addon Domain Question.

You do not want to create a subdomain first. By creating the addon domain, you will create the subfolder and alias entry all in one step. So, from cpanel in the addon domain section, you fill out the following fields.

New Domain Name: {enter the domain without the www, i.e. 'dogfish.com'}

Username/Directory/Subdomain Name: {this is the directory that you want the domain to point to, i.e. 'dogfish', and it will be located in your public_html folder. This field is labeled this way because the name you choose here will be the name of the alias (it can be accessed as a subdomain), the name of the ftp user for the addon domain, and the name of the directory in which the files for the domain will be kept.

password: {this is the password that will be used for ftp with the above username}

As long as the nameservers are set up correctly it should all work fine. Allow at least 2 hours for everything to work perfectly.

2. Your email question.

To set up the forwarders to forward all mail to one account, you go to mail and then to forwarders. Click on add forwarder and put the main email account in the box before your domain. In the second box put the email address that you want to forward the mail to.

Then go back to the main menu and click on default address. Click on set default address. Your domain should be in the first box and you want to put your hotmail address in the second box, then click on change.

If all of this is set up correctly and it is still not working, send your HG email account an email and then check it through webmail to see if it is in your inbox. If it is in your inbox, the forwarders are definately NOT working and you should send an email to support@hostgator.com. If the email you sent is not in your inbox and did not get filtered as spam, the forwarders probably ARE working and your hotmail account is filtering your emails as spam.

Hope this helps.
