Hey there,
I currently have a business hosting plan with you guys and would like to know the following: Can I use my business plan for several completely different sites? If so how do I keep their files completely separate from each other? And once I decide to upgrade to a reseller plan how hard will it be to move them all over as separate accounts? Thanks Lisa |

You can host multiple domains on your account by using the Add-on domain feature in your cPanel. If you search the forum or support pages for add-on you can find much more information on that topic.
Moving the sites over to separate cPanel accounts in a reseller account depends on the complexity of the sites themselves. Simple HTML sites are easy but if you are using scripts that use databases it is more difficult. I believe that HG will help but it is not free. Personally, I would consider biting the bullet and moving to a reseller account and then setting up the sites. It is much simpler than trying to move sites, especially if the individual sites have email accounts and are database driven. |

Hi GvilleRick
Thanks for your feedback, I think you may be right, its probably better for me to avoid any potential complications/problems and just get the reseller plan. Lisa |

The Business plan seems to be faster, less down time, but is limited to resources. The reseller has more resources, and no inode limits, but has a disk space usage limit. You can also create individual hosting packages. However from my experience reseller services from hostgator is extremely slow. website load more slowly, and everything is just SLOW.
If you do not plan to resell, I recommend either the Business plan or a VPS. Also moving each add-on domain when transferring from a shared plan to the reseller plan costs $10 per domain I believe. However it's more easier and cheaper if you do it yourself manually. When using the business shared plan, each add-on website will have it's own dns zones, and it's own folder. It will be seperate from eachother, except the primary domain. I was able to do this to view my other website URL www.primarydomain.com/seconddomain.com/ Last edited by Ulatan; 01-21-2011 at 01:46 AM. |

VPS is much much more stable than any other plan, and it is more reliable and gives you freedom to do whatever you want and nobody will bother you Also price is very nice, nice VALUE FOR MONEY ratio
