Default Box Trapper Stopped Working - Anyone Else With This Problem?

Hello,

I'm starting to get email in my inbox that Box Trapper spam trap is supposed to trap.

It looks like the problem started last night.

Have you heard of anyone else having this problem?

All The Best,

Tony

hi,
i would say, shared users' please have some patience while issues with this upgrade are sorted out one by one.
There's a lot more things to be fixed and iam 200% sure hostgator is working on it on each shift they can.

believe me they are many times more capable than most hosting providers around. atleast my 3yr. experience here lets me say that.

Dear Gators,

I'm working on the issue at this time, I'm currently pushing out a fix to all of our gator (shared boxes) at this time. I'm doing this in a for loop at the moment in a one by one fashion. Trust me, this is as big an issue for us as it is for you. Our ticket queue is swamped at the moment.

I just love cPanel. (sarcasm)

Once the shared boxes are confirmed fixed we'll push the fix out to the rest of the reseller servers. Thanks for your patience and for bearing with us.

@GatorFord - thank you for the info. perhaps to help quiet your queues, you could give us progressive reports a couple times a day as support has in the past during major problems. if information is available here, many may choose to ride it out rather than create more and more tickets.

..just a thought

Or make a server status RSS feed for each server so people on the server can subscribe to it

I actually like that idea. Something like http://status.hostgator.com/gator482.hostgator.com/ for individual feeds, etc. I dont think we'll be able to do that in the immediate future (shared server RBL/mail issues are #1 on my list), but I'm adding it to my list of things to do, or at least consider. Thanks for the suggestion.

As far as a cPanel status update: The majority of the servers appear to be functioning normally. The automated cPanel update from the other night did not go smoothly (checking the cpanel forums shows others having many of the same issues), so it's been a frantic few days trying to get everything stabilized. It's been just as crazy here as I'm sure it's been for many of you. Thanks for your continued patience.

Right; except if there was an issue that caused a temporary outage on a specific/your server (DDOS, or something similar), if we put the status page on the same box, well ... the very moment you'd need to see the status update, you'd have problems getting to the page :P

Having the status page on a dedicated machine that did nothing but serve low-overhead, practically static RSS pages would be good.

In a datacenter that's not in Dallas, from a provider that's not theplanet.

[Emphasis added] for the #1 priority, and for considering more efficient methods of keeping us informed (which also have the _potential_ of freeing up at least some Support time that is currently spent on "Status" type queries).

I do believe members have requested email updates and stuff multiple times and it seems the requests are ultimatly "put on the back burner" and when asked for an update, users are told to view the "Network Status" or "Announcements" topics.
