Default Billing

Luckily I logged into my billing option this morning and saw I owed 1.00 on my current bill. (I had a service credit for one month on a lower package before I upgraded). It was due the 24th. Why am I not being notified when a bill is due ?

I thinks hostgator automatic system has problem !

most common reason seen was when you don't have a working e-mail ID saved in your billing profile.
1). Avoid using mail account based on your primary hosted domain.
2). use a account which use atleast once a day.

Yes, get an email account that has nothing whatsoever to do with your hosting account's server...the logic is explained here (ghpk's no. 2 is an excellent, and often over-looked point):

However, the statement regarding "most common reason" might provide an incomplete picture. An important reason for the problem the OP was reporting is bugs in HostGator's billing system as was communicated to me by HostGator's staff when replying to ticket HAV-2710521.

Those two tips have nothing to do with why I was not notified that I had a dollar to pay for my current billing period, though useful info.

Same thing with me - and it happened again, this month. Fortunately, I was prepared this time and I logged into my account and paid the balance due a day later.

Bugs like this, in the billing system, give me very little incentive to sign up for automated payments...
