You may want to try the "Forgot you password" link. You may be using the wrong login information.

Is everyone moved over now? I'm not getting in either, and my address isn't recognized by the system.

No, not everyone. We are moving newest to oldest, and judging by your forum account signup date, you wouldn't have been moved yet.

Easiest way to find out is to login to modernbill, and see if you wind up in gatorbill.

Thanks Drew, that's about what I thought... I'll just wait to see what everyone is so thrilled about... Personally I had no problems with the old system..

Agreed! Although, I'd suggest removing logged in users from viewing their own passwords to log into their cpanel hosting account.

We will be adding an option in the billing system to do hide passwords. We already offer that functionality in the administrative control panel, I just need to move it to the customer side. I agree, it can be rather uncomfortable in any even semi-public area.

It's quite confusing for any complex passwords in any case, Drew, as it shows codes for any special HTML characters rather than the characters themselves. I'd be inclined to dump it altogether, but that's just my own personal reaction.

I was expecting to reproduce that easily, since it sounds like the type of thing I would have missed... but I wasn't able to.

I set a cpanel account password of mine to ax&@!~bc ... and it displayed properly in the browser.

Would you mind sending me a screen-shot to drew [at ] hostgator.com?

Email with screenshot is on its way. The problem characters in the case that I saw were opening and closing braces { and } and so the issue may not involve all special characters as my comment above implied.

Thanks for your email. I went ahead and fixed the problem that causes the display issue. It was actually in how the system gathers the change in your cpanel password.

I don't want to try to fix it retroactively, since it might cause more problems with people who actually do have percent signs and hex characters in their password intentionally.

The next time you change your password in cpanel to something with special characters, it should work properly.

Suits me. Thanks. I'm just relieved to know that it was real and I wasn't hallucinating.

As promised, I've added this to the customer side.

Everyone can also do verified by visa and mastercard secure code payments if you'd like to. Its a requirement for some people in India, but everyone else probably won't be interested. To do so, go to https://gbclient.hostgator.com/make_payment/ and read the message in the bottom fieldbox.

You login with the credentials you used when you signed up for your account. Nothing to do with the forum.
