Default Billing information verification

Hello,

I set up my shared hosting account (hatchling) yesterday and got my site working alright, until after a few hours it said my account had been suspended. I got a little worried at first until I noticed I had a mail indicating I needed to verify my billing information by providing a copy of my passport and creditcard.

I sent these about 5 hours ago and was wondering how long it will take to process these. I'm not in any particular rush, just eager to get things working properly and was wondering if I should be keeping an eye on my inbox or whether it might take a while longer.

Another thing I was wondering about is the processing power I'm sharing on this account. This is my first time hosting a site and I was wondering how easy or hard it is to go over whatever limit there might be. For the moment I plan on hosting a site that gives the user access (via PHP) to a MySQL database of current shops in an online game. I will be automatically updating this information every 10 minutes or so via a remote connection. The users will then be able to browse shops/search by item etcetera.

It's the main reason I went for HostGator (lot's of good reviews and I really wanted the remote access to the database) and I'm just wondering if I'll run into any issues, and also what the consequences would be of surpassing some limit. Would this kind of thing result in an account suspension? What would happen to the refund policy?

It's probably silly for me to worry about it all, but as I said this is my first attempt at a site and have no experience in such matters

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hello,

I am glad to hear that you were able to verify your order! We are happy to have you.

I just wanted to add that if you wish to add additional packages in the future, you can bypass verification procedures by adding them to your existing billing account. To do so, login at http://gbclient.hostgator.com and click on "Add Hosting Package" under the "Hosting Packages" section.

Welcome to the HostGator family!

You agreed to the TOS when you signed up. It showed you the limits. If you didn't bother to read it, there is a link at the bottom of the page.

If you go over limits, your account gets suspended.

I only found it saying 25%, I'll just assume that is hard to go over as my percentage appears to stay at 0% during updating of my database. Sorry for asking stupid questions, just always a bit insecure about making some silly mistake.

If your sites are coded well, you shouldn't have any problems. HG's shared servers are very powerful.

Your questions aren't stupid at all. Best to ask something if you don't know.
