Default Billing E-mail Info

Hello,
Will be nice to receive an E-mail when an invoice is created/posted.
No more work as the automated "Remember".
Thank You and hello to all folk here.

I've been told that the nasty, "you better pay or else" email you get when you don't pay on time serves as a reminder email, so they don't feel they need to send us any other notification.

I finally got sick of it and just put it on the autopay for my credit card. No more invoices at all. Which my accountant just loves me for.

I've been with Hostgator for about a month now, Will I get an email to remind me it's time to pay? I can't remember the exact date and don't want to fall behind and get my board take offline.

No, you will not get a reminder email. The first email you will get is the "nasty" "you better pay" email that says your payment is late.

You can log into your billing account and see when it is due, pay it early or setup automatic payments. The automatic payments is the best way to go, then you never see the "nasty" email and it pays itself each month.

Sorry to seem dumb here but where do I go to log into my billing account?
I don't seem to have any information like that, that I have been given that I know of.

https://secure.hostgator.com/billing/

this link can be found, clicking on the above support link, then on Billing System, and finally on "Click here to update your billing info.".

Hope it helps

Thanks Vtrain, I've managed to pay my bill which was four days overdue.

A nice monthly reminder would be much easier to remind me.

How do you set up autopay? I went to billing and couldn't figure it out.

Is it possible that I set it to autopay when I signed up?

I am going on vacation and my second month will come due about the time I am expected back. I would feel more comfortable if I could set payment up in advance.

Thumbs up Re: Billing E-mail Info

I use my credit card - auto-pay for the win! When it comes to checking my credit card statement, I just hop into my HG billing panel and just download all the invoices that I need for that month.

Karin:
To setup autopay...
1) Go to (and login to): https://secure.hostgator.com/billing/
2) Under My Finance ; click Update CC
3) Enter your credit card information, and voila!

With your CC information in place, it should charge your CC each month automatically

thanks for this post, I went to the link, only to found that I have been billed twice for the same month ... at one day interval ... fortunately they didn't continue this trend ...

Submitted a ticket ...

hullo,
i think reminder should be sent as soon as invoice is generated, as a small percentage of credit cards needs to be manually used due to some "cvv" number validation,
read at http://support.hostgator.com/index.p...id=149&nav=0,7

so if one is on holiday will come back to a terminated a/c if the auto billing fails.

Perhaps it would be nicer if hostgator lets you keep certain funds paid through paypal or CC in your billing a/c which can be utilized if you are not around to use the manual payment options.

Thanks,

You can setup automated billing with HG through Authorize.net or via a paypal subscription, I've used paypal it is wasn't too bad. You can prepay paypal so it always has cash instead of letting it roll to a credit card.

Both ways are better than Modern Bill's hate letters and suspensions.

Yea, until it just stops working for no reason. If that happens to happen when you aren't able to respond, you will be suspended. I've had my charge just stop working twice. For three months I couldn't get it to work automatically at all. Working fine now, but who knows.

I had to do it manually once in almost two years because it wouldn't go through. I have the monthly billing date in my calendar to remind me to check my web banking, just in case.
