When servers are having problems like Chevette is right now. Post in the forum in Network Status.
My customers contact me and I look unprofessional as I have no information to provide them. What is the use of having a Network status form if you don't put problems with the servers and what is going to be done or how long till it goes back on line rough estamates are fine better then nothing like I have now. We apologize for the issues with Chevette early this morning. We contacted our data center for a reboot due to a high load and they took longer than usual to get it completed for us. We do not usually post reboots in the network status section, only extended outages due to maintenance or hardware issues.
Feel free to contact our live chat if you are unable to get an update off of our Network Status forums at any time.

I contacted them and all they said was you are aware of it and working on it.
This really means nothing to me when my customers are asking me what is going on. They could tell me in chat what time it started or what was going on so I could look profession to my clients. |

Are you seeing over 45 minutes of downtime a month? In a shared environment there is always going to be some downtime. It should not exceed the 99.9% uptime guarantee we have.
Chat techs do not have the knowledge or access to provide system administration. If a box just went down it would be in the process of being investigated by a system administrator. In the future please open a ticket on any outages. You can also email me personally if you do not get an acceptable response at brent@hostgator.com
