With hard drive space being so cheap... Is hostgator planning on upgrading their drive sizes for dedicated servers?....
I love the service and quality that I have gotten from HG!!!1 Thank You guys/gals..... ![]() I just really want to see a kick butt plan with 1,2 or 10 TB of drive space.... you can keep the rest of the specs the same.... .... Is this something that can be customized?... if I pay for hardware and send to HG? |

I am also frustrated with the current disk space offerings. I have a pro server I set up in fall 2007. It has 4 500 GB drives. The new pro servers now have 8 GB of RAM and a much faster processor, but only 2 500 GB drives. Sadly these machines only have 2 drive bays so I am left with no option to upgrade without losing a significant amount of disk space (and as a result, redundancy).
I'm going to mention this in a different post but the real reason I need all this disk space is because of the lack of offsite backups. I have daily and weekly backups on my server so basically I have 3 copies of every site, so while I'm really only using 1/3rd of my disk space, I'm hovering at 90%. If hostgator provided some tertiary storage option that I could only write to once a week or so and only download from when I need to do a restore. OR if hostgator setup a NAS system (like a NetApp) either for primary or backup storage, with the ability to easily grow my volumes .. that would be perfect. Thanks for listening. |
